V2T is pleased to welcome David Harrison, who is joining the Engineering Services team.

David has over 30 years of experience in nearly all areas of the low-slope roofing industry and has gained in-depth technical knowledge of low slope roof systems and accessories by working for contractors, manufacturers, consulting and architectural/engineering firms.

Starting as a roofing laborer and rising to the level of the manager of technical services and warranties for one of the oldest vinyl based membrane manufacturers, David’s experience is broad. He has traveled the US extensively installing, inspecting and surveying roofs. That experience has taken him from a mobile missile service tower to a nuclear power generating plant.

He has installed roof systems, performed quality assurance services for building owners, performed non-destructive moisture and roof condition surveys, and managed the warranty liability on millions of square feet of roofs. In his early work career, David gained valuable experience in technical writing, banking, public relations, and small business management.

Born in Tulsa, David spent the first 13 years of his life there before moving to Dallas with his family and graduating from Jesuit College Preparatory School. He returned to Tulsa to attend the University of Tulsa studying engineering, business, and education. Upon leaving Tulsa, David moved to the Philadelphia area and eventually to southwest Virginia to help run the family business.

After almost 20 years of managing the roofing liability of one of the original vinyl based membrane manufacturers, the manufacturer chose to discontinue their involvement. David wanted to continue his education and involvement in the industry and when David recently found the opportunity to become part of the V2T team, it was a perfect fit.

As an active professional member of RCI for over 20 years, David has continued his education through RCI educational programs, as well as through other industry sponsored programs. From 1999 through 2004, he served on the Board of SPRI while chairing the Member Appreciation Committee and serving on numerous Task Forces. He has been a CSI Construction Documents Technologist since 1992.

David and his wife, Anne, live in Wytheville Virginia and enjoy watching the adventures of their two grown children, Thomas and Elise. In his spare time, David officiates soccer and tennis and has had the unique opportunity of calling lines for the likes of John McEnroe, Pete Sampras, and the Williams sisters.
