FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 3, 2016 Radco Roofing Supports Beds for Kids with a New Warehouse Roof CHARLOTTE, N.C. Radco Roofing installed a new roof February 12, 2016 for the Beds for Kids warehouse on 2519 S. Tryon St. in Charlotte, N.C. Radco provided donated materials and labor to help offset costs for the Beds for Kids, a charitable organization that provides beds and furniture to families in need.
Greg Keith, a longtime supporter of Beds for Kids and president of The Keith Corporation (TKC), and Michael Cox, director of management services for TKC, requested a roof inspection at the Beds for Kids warehouse from Radco Roofing. “Over the last four years, our warehouse has had quite a few roof leaks,” said Daniel Fogarty, Beds for Kids Executive Director. “As we started to investigate what it would cost to replace the roof, we quickly realized that we couldn’t afford to do this. We went back to each of the contractors that submitted bids and told them what we could realistically manage. Ted Rademacher at Radco Roofing said he wanted to help and was able to work with his suppliers and his employees to help get our roof repaired.”
Rademacher, Radco Roofing President, contacted Greg Jones, president of Premier Building Products, and requested a donation from Carlisle, a commercial roofing membrane manufacturer, and received an approval for the material donation. Radco was further able to cut costs on the project by using the V2T Roof System to save on material and labor costs. On average, a V2T project can save approximately $2 per square foot over traditional lowslope roofing systems. In the end, this allowed Radco to cut their original proposed price in half and complete the roof installation on the Beds for Kids warehouse. “Quote from Ted on the project and donating materials and labor.”
